ENGINEERING DESIGN, CONNECTED.
Accelerating multidisciplinary design through intelligent automation.

DESIGN
THE PROBLEM
Design is fragmented by default.
Engineering design is delivered through P&ID's, BIM, drawings, schedules, specifications, calculations and more, each originated and maintained independently. Every change must be coordinated across them, making design slow, expensive and hard to keep consistent.
Engineers spend up to 14% of their time coordinating instead of designing*. Every hour spent keeping deliverables aligned is an hour not spent engineering.
Engineering data is fragmented across platforms, tools, files and disciplines. Teams are forced to work across these silos, manually coordinating information to keep the design aligned.
Maintaining an accurate source of truth is difficult. As designs inherently evolve and change, keeping multidisciplinary deliverables accurate becomes a constant manual effort.
OUR SOLUTION
Design. Connected.
Introducing the node-based, infinite-canvas P&ID. Every discipline can now work together across an entire process system, replacing disconnected deliverables with a single source of truth. Each node is an engineering asset whose metadata populates its own deliverables, keeping every deliverable connected to the design.
Fast.
Design on the canvas and every connected deliverable is generated with it. No rebuilding the same data across different tools.
Connected.
Every discipline works on the same canvas, at the same time. One shared source of truth, not files scattered across tools.
Accurate.
Change a node once and it carries everywhere. Every connected deliverable stays consistent as the design evolves.
THE CONNECTED MODEL
One node. Every deliverable.
The connected model, live. Try it below.
- 01PLACE A NODE
Generate every related deliverable, numbered to project standards.
- 02ENTER METADATA
Populate every deliverable with your design information.
- 03REVISE THE DESIGN
Update every deliverable instantly with every change.

Civil
Coming soonCivil deliverables are next onto the connected model.
Every deliverable carries the project's document numbering, metadata and standards, automatically, across every discipline.
STANDARDS
Your standards, not ours
Every organisation has its own engineering standards. Symbols, tagging conventions, numbering, templates and document requirements all vary, and existing projects need to remain consistent with them.
The Onboarding Engine takes your existing standards and builds them into Nexal. Your symbols, numbering, templates and conventions are embedded directly into the model, so every deliverable is generated to the standards you already use.
Nexal adapts to the way you engineer, not the other way around.
Rules
How your standards are applied, not just stored.
Numbering
Tag formats and sequences, applied automatically.
Symbols
Your symbol library, applied to every item on the drawing.
Templates
Your templates and sheet layouts, ready to issue.
Deliverables
Drawings, schedules, registers and everything else the model produces.
AutoCAD® block details
Geometry, attributes and connection ports, carried on the node.
Start with CORE
Not every project starts with a full standard in place. CORE gives you a complete engineering standard, with Nexal symbols, templates and numbering already built in and ready to design against from the first node.
Design in Nexal using the same standards that flow through to AutoCAD® Plant 3D™, keeping your engineering outputs connected from the start.
Use CORE as it is, or make it your own. Adapt what you need, then switch to your own standard whenever you're ready.
A whole asset. One node.
Common assets, a dosing set, a pump station, a booster set, are pre-built as standard packages. Drop one into your model as a single node, alongside the bespoke engineering that makes up the rest of the design.
INTEGRATIONS
No need to rip and replace.
Intelligent P&IDs in an instant
Nexal is where the engineering data is created. Autodesk® is where it gets published. Design once in Nexal, then publish directly to AutoCAD® Plant 3D™. No redrawing, no duplicate data, no coordinating drawings just to produce a PDF.
Nexal Technologies is an Autodesk AECO Technology Partner.
Nexal to AutoCAD® Plant 3D™
Intelligent P&ID. All metadata carried over.
Paste an NX token and a complete, standards-based P&ID generates: equipment, valves, instruments, pipe runs and tags. In Plant 3D™ it lands as an intelligent drawing with the metadata already attached.
Autodesk Forma carries the same P&ID into Revit®, enriched with the connected data it was built from.
OUTCOMES
Multiply engineering capacity.
Every engineer delivers more. Every deliverable, every discipline and every revision references the same engineering data, so change propagates instead of being re-entered. More engineering time, less manual coordination.
Reduction in design coordination time
Automation removes the production and coordination work surrounding engineering.
Reduction in change management effort
One engineering change propagates across every connected deliverable.
Complete field accuracy
Accuracy across every single-source-of-truth field, on complete export.
Performance figures are based on representative engineering workflow benchmarking and internal modelling. Actual results will vary depending on project scope, standards and implementation.
Built by engineers who
lived the problem.
Nexal was built by engineers who spent years designing UK water, flood defence and nuclear infrastructure. Where design is slow, fragmented and coordinated by hand, Nexal is where teams iterate fast and stay fully compliant. If your work is slower than it should be, let's talk.
